Welcome to the advanced skills online statistics sessions. It’s true that no one really likes learning statistics – but hopefully this will allow you to work through the topic at your own pace and really understand the purpose of statistics.
In addition to this website, there are drop in sessions, where you can ask questions about statistics, and get one to one help – but you won’t be actively taught in these sessions, you’ll need to have questions or problems.
There is online ‘community’ help available via twitter (use the hashtag #AdvSkill_LES – and keep an eye out on the side bar on the right of the screen – if there’s an answer you know, then help someone else out).
These webpages will stay active for the rest of your university experience as a minimum – so you can always refer back to the site if you forget something. However, you will be expected to understand and perform basic tests (and interpret what they mean) once you have completed this course (with the help of this site, and other books and websites). So make the most of this set of tutorials, and the drop in sessions.
Who knows, you may even find that you end up (almost) enjoying statistics.
The site is best viewed using Google Chrome on a laptop or desktop computer. Functionality of the videos may be affected using different browsers or devices.

Don't panic about learning statistics. If you think logically, and learn to play about with the software, then it actually becomes quite intuitive.
